Inspiring a lifetime of adventure
Our Year 6 residential trips offer something different from most adventure companies. Rather than rushing children from activity to activity, we know they need time to enjoy their experience. Our year 6 students go home talking of singing around the campfire, enjoying nature and bonding with their classmates.
Our award-winning school trips provide you with time spent in nature away from screens and technology. It’s a chance to bond and work together. Being outdoors is a great boost for their mental and physical health.
“A fabulously engaging and inspiring visit for our children who would not get to experience these activities elsewhere.” Kings Oak Primary School

De Havilland wanted a camping experience but needed it to feel comfortable and secure. Teacher Helen Hayhoe explained, “It was a relaxed, lovely experience. So many of our children had never been away from home before. Wildchild gave them freedom to explore and have fun but it felt very safe. It was good preparation for secondary school.”
Year six is the perfect time to offer your students a longer residential experience. For many, it’s their first taste of independence and a night away from home.
Included in every Wildchild adventure:

Wild Survivor Bushcraft
Practical survival skills test teamwork and encourage problem-solving skills. Your students will love learning shelter building, water filtration, fire lighting and campfire cooking. If you stay for two nights or more, you’ll also have time to experience our Wild Explorer games, navigation skills and tracking activities.
Our outdoor adventures will give them an educational adrenaline hit!
On your Year 6 residential trip the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Our skilled instructors will lead a range of evening activities your students will love. After cresta-run tobogganing, ambush games, bat detection missions or night-time safaris, you know they’ll get a good night’s sleep.
You can relax knowing there’s plenty to entertain your students during their free time. Use our table tennis sets, giant board games and multi-sports to provide even the liveliest students with plenty to do.
We’ve designed our team building and trust games to help year six learners build resilience, solve problems and work together. They’ll leave Wildchild a closely knit team with stronger friendships than ever.
What year 6 residential trip would be complete without a roaring campfire? Watch our instructors light your fire and enjoy drinking hot chocolate, singing and telling stories. It’s the highlight of the adventure for many students.
