What we Do
At Wildchild we offer uniquely inspirational, active and creative activities for schools. Our combination of introducing outdoor adventures, teaching practical bushcraft skills, engaging children in creative teambuilding games and opening the door to new skills and talents, has proven popular with schools looking to offer their pupils something different.
Taking place over an hour, a day or anything up to a week, a Wildchild Adventure can include adrenalin-fuelled outdoor adventures, practical bushcraft skills, team-building, creative activities or the chance to try a new sport such as fencing, skateboarding or archery.
Bespoke enrichment and reward, after-school clubs, residential and school camp-out experiences
There are many different ways your pupils could benefit from a Wildchild Adventure as they can be delivered as:
An after-school club – an opportunity to take part in our adventure activities over a ten-week programme.
A curriculum enrichment or reward session – whether you are looking to engage hard-to-reach groups, add an outdoor learning element to compliment a school topic, or provide an achievement or attendance reward, our adventures provide the perfect option.
A school residential camp out – for schools who want their pupils to benefit from a Residential without the added time and cost of travel, we can bring the adventure to you with your own school camp out.
A school residential adventure trip – taking place at established outdoor activity centres offering a comprehensive range of activities. Accommodation is provided by traditional bell tents, adding to the communal feel of the adventure.
PPA cover for schools – many schools enlist us to provide non-traditional sports sessions such as skateboarding, fencing and archery, team-building activities and outdoor learning opportunities as a way of making the most of PPA time.
A fundraising adventure day – we can come along to your school fundraising event and deliver our adventure activities and school camp-outs, with money raised (after costs) going toward your school or chosen charity.
Tailored to meet your objectives
Your adventure could take place on your school grounds allowing you to benefit from your existing resources, or you could choose to offer an off-site adventure at one of the established outdoor centres we work with. Our Adventures are bespoke – we work closely with teachers to tailor a package that is affordable and fully integrated with the curriculum. Your Wildchild Adventure can be used to learn new skills, try new activities, build relationships with teachers and peers, and encourage independent thought and learning.
Whatever your student age ranges, desired outcomes or budget we will work with you to create an Adventure unique to your school.
A Wildchild Adventure is more than just an hour, a day or a week – It lasts a lifetime.
For children from KS1 through to KS3, a Wildchild Adventure
Promotes outdoor learning
children have the opportunity to engage with the outdoors and explore in a safe environment.
Encourages independent thinking and learning
children are encouraged to work independently and make decisions. Whether deciding on how best to build a bug-shelter, orienteering or navigating a low-ropes course, they are making decisions and taking responsibility for their actions.
Develops teambuilding skills
through planned games and activities designed to encourage pupils (and teachers if required) to get to know each other better. Whether working together to get to the top in a cratestacking challenge, or building a woodland shelter, children are learning crucial team-building skills to benefit them in the classroom and for the future.
Inspires and motivates children
through the introduction of new, non-traditional sports and skills based activities. Discovering new sports such as Skateboarding, Fencing and Archery and creative activities including Animation and Fashion Design can ignite a new passion or even the start of a future career path.
Takes Children out of their comfort zone
where they can embrace new adventures, look at things from a different perspective, and just give it a go!
