Devonshire House Prep School - One-night school residential for Year 3 pupils

devonshire house prep schoolDevonshire House have been bringing their Year 3 classes to visit us for the past five years. They knew an overnight school residential would greatly benefit their students but struggled to find a suitable provider. Click to read case study

Louise Reen, Deputy Headteacher told us, “As an independent school we find so many of our children are lucky enough to have a lot of technology at their fingertips, so this gives them an opportunity to unplug, enjoy the bushcraft activities, and really be at one with nature. And they love it!”

Since visiting Wildchild, Devonshire House have found, “Being away encourages them to do things for themselves, improving their independence and listening skills significantly.”

What does a Wildchild Year 3 + 4 school residential trip include?

Option 1 – A Nature based night away
A one-night adventure trip with a forest focus!  Learn the skills to thrive in the wild, develop your knowledge of British wildfire, and explore the outdoors before settling in to your cosy accommodation.  This is the perfect introduction to being away from home, whilst building on knowledge in a fun and unique way outside of the classroom.

“A great opportunity for children to experience the outdoors and show independence in a supportive environment”. Cavendish School, Year 4

    Option 2 – Adventure based one-night residential
For a more adrenaline-filled night away we have our adventure focused one-night residential trip.  This option includes our Wild Survivor Bushcraft session, alongside archery and either cratestacking or high ropes.

Option 3 – Two night residential adventure
Can’t choose between a nature or adventure focused trip, why not pick both!

Our two-night trips include both Wild Survivor and Wild Explorer sessions alongside two adventure activities and our team challenge.  In just three days pupils will develop their confidence, teamwork, independence and nature knowledge.  The additional night also allows for extra evening games and twice as much hot chocolate!

“All children had shared experiences, first introduction of being away from home and independence.  Activities brought them together to challenge themselves”.  Manland Primary School
