Wildchild offer residential school trips and outdoor adventure days for primary and secondary schools and youth groups in the UK. We provide a bespoke range of authentic outdoor adventure experiences that build into unique and inspiring adventures for your group.

For schools looking for a ‘real’ outdoor educational adventure

Wildchild Residential Adventure trips and Outdoor Adventure Days provide a real opportunity for children to experience the outdoors. We deliver immersive outdoor education experiences in exciting woodland environments, with a key focus on engaging children in the great outdoors, helping them to identify and appreciate the many benefits and wonders of the natural world.

With outdoor learning now recognised as an essential requirement for every child’s education throughout Primary and Secondary school, each of our activities are designed to focus on key learning objectives around building independence, working together, and learning new life skills that will benefit pupils as they continue their journey through school and into adulthood.

Exciting and adventurous accommodation options

Our authentic bell-tent accommodation set in spacious woodland forms an integral part of any residential adventure.  Canvas bell-tents, complete with bunk bed style sleeping arrangements that sleep up to 6, means pupils can enjoy a genuine ‘under-canvas’ camping experience, providing an easily accessible haven away from screens and deadlines, with much-needed reflection and downtime built into each day.

Woodland lodges provide a comfortable accommodation option in the winter months, and all year round for younger pupils. Dormitory-style accommodation in the heart of the woodlands means pupils and teachers can benefit from all the indoor comforts and still be ideally situated for the day and evening activities.

Adventurous day and evening activity programmes

Wildchild Adventure programmes are suitable for children from Primary School KS1 through to Secondary School, and are designed in partnership with teachers to meet key, pre-set learning objectives.

We deliver a combination of bushcraft survival activities, teambuilding games and workshops, and choice of outdoor adventure activities (zipwire, climbing, kayaking, abseiling, potholing and many more) to provide a varied, adventurous and value for money experience for every group, whatever your objectives.

Team-work is at the core of all our adventure programmes, and we encourage children to set team and individual goals, challenging themselves through perseverance rather than competitiveness, and supporting each other to overcome personal challenges.

And the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down!  Our evening activity programme could include wide games, ambush, cresta run toboggans, making friendship bracelets and singing songs around the campfire, or even a night-time safari on a bat detection mission.

Easily accessible and adventurous woodland locations

Situated within an hour from London and minutes away from the M1 and M25, our proximity to London provides a cost-effective and practical option for schools looking for an adventurous residential trip without a long and costly journey to the coast or further afield. Established outdoor activity centres with acres of woodland, on-site facilities, as well as a wide variety of adventure activities provide the perfect setting for our adventures.

One-night stays ideal for younger children or as a lower-cost residential alternative.

Our adventure programmes can be adapted to suit pupils aged 7-16 and could be anything from a one day adventure or one night / 2 day residential trip, to a week-long stay.

The flexibility of a shorter stay gives schools the opportunity to introduce vital outdoor learning as well as the experience of being away from home to their younger pupils in advance of longer Year 5 and 6 trips.  Our one-night stays can also provide a cost-effective solution to ensure all schools can offer an affordable outdoor adventure, whatever your budget.

Great value for money

With one-night adventures starting at £99 per pupil, Wildchild Adventures provide a quality, value for money option for schools looking for a real outdoor learning opportunity for their pupils within easy access, and without the added time and cost of a long journey.  The cost of your trip includes meals, accommodation, activities, evening activity programme, Wildchild instructors with you for the duration of your trip, and free teacher places (1 for every 10 pupils).
