When it comes to school trips we listen to your needs and create the perfect trip

When children come on a Rootd residential trip, we want them to get lost in the moment and become truly absorbed in the experience. So, waiting in long lines or rushing between activities is out, and making the most of every minute is in.

We’ll design a school residential trip to suit the specific needs of your students, ensuring that we maximise every opportunity to engage and inspire them.

Our school residential trips are all about you

From the moment you book your trip, we make sure we get to know you and your students. We then design the ideal trip for you, incorporating activities that we know will bring out the best in your students.

When you’re with us, we’ll take the time to get to know each and every student, building relationships with them and responding to their needs and interests on a personal level.

A forest school approach

A forest schools approach to learning

Developing students’ life skills and building their resilience as they explore the outdoors is the aim of our trips, so we plan them carefully around the principles of forest schools teaching.

Through outdoor adventure, we encourage independent thinking, creativity and teamwork – skills that will benefit them all once they’re back in the classroom.

Trained leaders always on hand to help

Our trip leaders aren’t just there to show you around and lead the activities, they’re there to get involved and become one of the group.  And they want to be as hands-on as possible, so you can relax and enjoy the time with your students.

Less rushing, more time for fun

Our trips are about creating a fully immersive experience for children, not just rushing them through a list of activities. In contrast to trips run by bigger providers, as well as enjoying some exciting activities, children also have time to relax, think and reflect on their experience.

campfire adventure

Captivating campfires

An overnight outdoor adventure wouldn’t be the same without a good sing song around the campfire, and it’s often the highlight of the trip for many children.  It gives them time to talk, sing and tell stories together, and it can be a great bonding experience.

And with our trip leaders on hand dishing out biscuits and serving hot chocolate, it gives you the chance to unwind alongside your students and enjoy some special time together as a class.

cosy accommodation less than an hour from london

Quick travel times and cosy accommodation

Within an hour of Central London, our woodland centres are easily accessible from London and the South East, which means quick travel times and happier children. Instead of spending hours cooped up on a coach, they can make the most of their time exploring the outdoors.

And they’ll love where they stay. In the warmer months they can get the real camping experience in our spacious bell tents, complete with bunk beds and flooring. When it’s colder, our indoor accommodation is perfect for getting cosy after a busy day in the outdoors.

We’re always here to help

From the moment you enquire about one of our trips, we’ll be here to answer any questions you have. We’re easy to get hold of - you won’t be stuck with helpline numbers and enquiry desks.

If you’d like us to come to your parent meetings to introduce Rootd, we’ll be there. We love any opportunity to show what our trips are all about!

And if you’d like to visit one of our Rootd sites, you’re always very welcome.
